BEST BET 🏆

Race 3:  No.5  VICTORY MOMENTS

The Frankie Lor-trained VICTORY MOMENTS is flying-high lately and doesn’t look like landing anytime soon. Last start, the Spieth gelding had his third look at the all-weather track and made it three-straight top-two finishes when he beat all but one home in a Class 3 Hcp, here over 1200m. He is thriving on the dirt track and is joined today by Zac Purton for his third ride on the four-year-old. He maps to settle mid-field (as he does) and with a trouble-free run today, he can figure in the finish again.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 10:  No.3  PATCH OF THETA

We finish the day on the turf track where the Francis Lui-trained PATCH OF THETA is yet to miss a podium finish in his six race starts to date and looks well placed here to keep up the good work today. Last start, the Zoustar gelding jumped well and settled three pairs back (on the fence). Sticking to the fence, Karis Teetan secured a glorious rails run and passing the 200m mark, took control . Warding off a bunch of challenges, he went on to win by a length on the line. Hugh Bowman rode him to victory two starts back and has control of the leg irons for today’s assignment. Nicely drawn in gate five, he maps to settle in a similar spot to last start and unbeaten in two starts over the track and distance, he looks set to bring up the hat-trick today.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 6:  No.2  SOLID SHALAA

David Hayes saddles-up SOLID SHALAA here who is in great touch of late and looks set for his fourth-straight top-two finish today. Last start, the Shalaa gelding was shooting for back-to-back wins when he came up a little short, beating all but one home in a Class 4 Hcp, here over 1200m on the all-weather track. Slowly away, he had to work early and eventually settled mid-field on the fence. Karis Teetan eased off the rail inside the final 300m and close to home, grabbed the lead, only to be claimed on the line by a faster finishing Monta Frutta. Teetan sticks with him today as he faces similar company and over the same trip and track, he looks in the mix again.
