Race 7 No. 3 MUSIC ADDITION – ($2.50)
We’ve been successful in landing the cash with MUSIC ADDITION when he’s run soft early sectionals under Anthony Darmanin. Unlikely to find a similar scenario here to those two runs. Music Addition had raced away from Ivoryman to put the race to bed over 1100 metres in Hobart. Stepped to the 1200 metres there against some smart horses when again raced clear of Kuroset and Blazeforth. Hoping Gee Gee Lanett kicks up under Julius while fresh to make that horse work. Julius has been rampant of late on the synthetic and finds a change of surface here. Codi Jordan should be able to have Music Addition stalking the speed and we know that horse loves the sting out of the ground.

Race 6 No. 2 THELMA – ($2.80)
THELMA made her way back to the races in the best possible way with a victory over this track and trip. Taylor Johnstone found the front early on the mare who was racing first-up for more than sixteen months. Thelma had wobbled off the inside turning for home before grinding out a gritty win over the resuming Recompensa. Nothing else really wanted to make ground in the Class One and she’ll meet a more quality opposition here. Brendan McShane has given her some time between runs with Johnstone steering her around in a recent in Hobart. The pair may have to work a little to cross, particularly if the rail is shown to be hot early.

Race 8 No. 12 TAVIRUN- ($4)
Happy to see TAVIRUN back to the mile after he was inclined to race strongly over the mile and a quarter last start. He can get a bit keen on the bridle at times which led trainer Siggy Carr to replace the blinkers with visors two back. Lizzie Annells gave him a treat in the run that day in Hobart. The pair went on to win their benchmark 76 over the mile in impressive fashion. They had a target on their backs last time though and Tavirun didn’t help himself by over racing in behind the leaders. Carr comes back on with the horse up in class against a few who may be suspect at the trip.
