Morphettville Parks Tips 20/04/2024

BEST BET 🏆

Race 9 No. 9 SIXTEEN REASONS – ($5)

We marked SIXTEEN REASONS as a horse of interest following her second-up placing in BM72 grade at Oakbank. She began well to race strongly under Ben Price who eventually allowed her to find the front. Sixteen Reasons set a fast gallop over the 1400m which was appreciated by the winner Alpine Flyer. Alpine Flyer gained the ascendency into the straight to race clear while Sixteen Reasons comfortably accounted for the rest. Blew the start when coming back to 1200m on the outer track her last time and pay to forgive. Sixteen Reasons can improve off a seven-day back-up while finding cover as Jake Toeroek comes into the saddle.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 6 No. 7 STARTIDE – ($11)

Trainer Phillip Stokes is looking for back-to-back with his mare STARTIDE following a dominant win over this trip at Murray Bridge. Startide was racing first-up when coming back to around midfield under Todd Pannell. The pair became held-up for runs as Pannell attempted to bring her into the race inside the 400m. He found a gap for the mare approaching the furlong with Startide bursting through to hit the front. She came away from them inside the final 100m for a convincing win. Rises to Saturday grade with plenty of pressure going on up front for Startide to be getting over them late.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 8 No. 2 APACHE GUNSHIP – ($31)

Alana Livesey asked APACHE GUNSHIP to move into the race while climbing the hill from their midfield position when breaking the maiden at Strathalbyn. Apache Gunship ranged up to subsequent winner Agressive Bee into the straight before putting them away over the 1100m. Apache Gunship then settled outside the leader in a fast-run 1300m race at Swan Hill. Ryan Houston was hard at work on Apache Gunship who perhaps hit a flat-spot on turning. The horse pinged the ears back to have a real crack into the straight and did come away from the others while approaching the finish. Since settled handy in a slowly-run 1400m before sprinting sharply to score at Oakbank last time out.
