Murray Bridge Tips 29/07/2022

BEST BET 🏆

Race 4 No. 7 HANABI – ($4.20)

We immediately penalised horses we thought might be facing the breeze as HANABI did throughout when racing second-up. She raced 3WNC the entire time on a tight Morphettville Parks track before holding her own to the line. She had put two sparkling trials together enroute to her first-up run on a testing Murray Bridge track the start prior. Hanabi is a big filly who can improve with racing with the Stokes team finding a winnable race here. They’ve accepted for a benchmark 64 on Saturday so we’ll just have to sit tight and see which way they go.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 7 No. 2 LOMAX – ($4.40)

Paul Carey has taken over the training of LOMAX this prep. Comes out of the benchmark 60 at Morphettville Parks where Angus Chung controlled the speed on Unlaced. Found himself out the back again and ran home fairly off the slow tempo with subsequent winner En Francais. We black booked Lomax off his run at Gawler two starts ago behind En Francais who had the race to herself in front. She’s put paid to them in a dominant display while Lomax had again been running on late. Lomax duly saluted for us since with a last-to-first performance over 1700 metres and must be considered again.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 2 No. 1 ARASSEM – ($4.40)

We marked ARASSEM as a horse to follow after seeing his first-up effort at Naracoorte for trainer Sue Murphy. He’s a maiden horse who resumed in a benchmark 66 over 2000 metres and wasn’t beaten far. We put our money on when racing second-up in Mount Gambier only to see him run on late behind the placings. We’ve sat out the past couple of runs including a good effort for third over 2500 metres here two back behind Smiling Assassin. Murphy’s patience can be rewarded having finally found a suitable race back to maiden class. Ben Price knows the horse having been on his back for his past three starts and has drawn a treat here.
