Race 5 No. 4 CUSTO – ($2.80)
CUSTO can just about make it two career wins from as many starts when he steps out in Race 5. The two-year-old made his debut at Scone over the 900m on July 15 and showed some good toe to defeat his rivals by three lengths. He led that day and kept going, running good time in the process to go 1.6 lengths slower than standard benchmark, which are the best last start figures of any runner and the second best figures that any horse in this race has ever produced. He has drawn well in barrier 4 and with any improvement to come at his second start he should be tough to beat.

Race 2 No. 15 RUSSIAN ASSASSIN – ($18)
The two-year-olds feature in Race 2 and I am expecting improvement from RUSSIAN ASSASSIN. The Lauri Parker-trained galloper resumed at Warwick Farm on July 13 and was well beaten into 4th position by Waverider Buoy. But the form from that race has held up with the runner-up going on to win its next start, while he went just 2.5 lengths slower than standard, which are the best figures that any horse in this race has produced. Second up last time the son of Russian Revolution improved six lengths on figures to run a close 4th at Canterbury and he draws to save ground from barrier 1 with Jay Ford to ride.
