The Maher & Eustace-trained EASY SINGLE has hit the ground running since resuming and looks set to keep the podium finishes coming here. Last start, the Not A Single Doubt gelding came off a first-up win in BM84 company at Flemington when he beat all but one to the line, here in a BM78 Hcp over the 1000m sprint. He ran that trip out, 10.5 lengths quicker than benchmark, the best in this field by more than 5 lengths. Ellen Hennessy sticks with him here and after her 3kg claim, the four-year-old comes in nicely at the weights, carrying just 1kg more than last start. He is a three-time winner on rain affected ground and already a winner when third-up. He brings impressive claims into this race.

Race 7: No. 11 WAIHAHA FALLS ($2.70 BET365)

The John O’Shea-trained WAIHAHA FALLS is second-up here and looks a strong chance for back-to-back victories. Last start, the Sacred Falls gelding resumed off a 20-week spell when he clobbered a BM78 field, here over the 1200m journey. Putting more than three lengths on them over the line, he ran his last 600m, 11.4 lengths quicker than benchmark, the best in this line-up by more than 5 lengths. Already a winner when second-up and is two from two on wet tracks, from gate five, he will take beating here.

Race 3: No. 8 COTTON FINGERS ($10 Unibet)

Second-up here, COTTON FINGERS is having just his third race start but looks poised for back-to-back victories. Last start, the Snitzel colt was resuming from a lengthy six-month break when he proved too good for them in a 1250m Maiden on a Heavy 9 at Canterbury. He ran a new personal best that day, running it out, 5.8 lengths quicker than benchmark, the best here by more than 4 lengths. Fitter for that first-up effort, Sam Clipperton is in charge here and ideally drawn in gate three, conditions are perfect for a repeat of his last start effort, and he is currently great value for a challenge like this.
