Rosehill Tips 30/07/2022
BEST BET 🏆
Race 8 No. 1 GOLD TRIP – ($9)
Keen on the near to double figure odds on offer for GOLD TRIP in the feature of the day at Rosehill, the Winter Challenge. The Maher/Eustace finally makes his Australian debut and was right in the market for a Cox Plate (2040m) win last year before being scratched prior to the race. The former French galloper has some world class form under his belt and we know how the stable have fared with their imports in the last couple of years. A George Main Stakes (1600m) run is on the agenda for the five-year-old and while the lack of exposed form is hard to match up, he does take on a number of b-graders here.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 6 No. 6 PIZARRO – ($9.50)
Wide barrier a slight concern here but if PIZARRO can cross to find a spot without burning too much fuel early on he is right in this. The John O’Shea-trained galloper has finished in the top two at all five career starts, winning one of those, which came at the same stage of his initial preparation. The son of All Too Hard last stepped out at Rosehill on July 16 over the 1200m and settled handy before producing the fastest last 200m to narrowly miss out behind Pretty Wild. His career personal best on benchmark figures was third up last time, improving eight lengths to go five lengths faster than standard when winning at Wyong. Hugh Bowman rides and the pair can take this out.
Best Value 💰 (EACH-WAY)
Race 2 No. 12 WAVERIDER BUOY- ($10)
Best Value comes up early at Rosehill and it is WAVERIDER BUOY that can measure up to Saturday class. The Chris Waller filly had one start at Rosehill last year, finishing runner-up behind Calgary Stampede before returning in a mid-weeker at Warwick Farm on July 22 and leading all the way to defeat Miyoshi. That horse has since gone on to produce a tough win at Warwick Farm. Benchmark figures stack up as well with the daughter of Nicconi going 5.7 lengths faster than standard to win at Warwick Farm. That came on a Heavy track and she is likely to strike something in that range, while she draws to be handy from barrier 6.
