Race 2 No. 1 BRECHEN – ($4.20)
BRECHEN can break the Maiden in Race 2 at Sale. The Chris Waller-trained galloper has had five starts and has placed in the last three of those. He was last seen at Sandown on July 6 over the 1200m, finishing 3rd behind Hypothetical. The form out of that has stood up with the 5th and 6th placegetters going on to score at their next starts, while he went 0.8 lengths slower than standard benchmark, which are the best last start figures of any runner and the second best figures that any horse in this race has produced. The son of Capitalist draws wide but has the pace to find a spot in the early stages with Michael Walker on board.

Race 7 No. 12 STELVIO – ($5)
STELVIO can be an improver at his second run back from a spell. The four-year-olds stepped out over the 1213m here at Sale on July 8 and settled back. He looked to have plenty in the tank but was held up from the turn until just before the finishing post, going to the line untested to finish four lengths off the winner, Lovie May. Second up at his prepvious preparation, the son of Lonhro improved 6.5 lengths on benchmark figures toplace at Sandown. The beautifully bred galloper will get back but should enjoy a solid tempo here and we can expect to see him fighting out the finish.
