BEST BET 🏆   

Race 2 No. 6 LADY DI DI- ($3.50) 

This looks to be a suitable assignment for LADY DI DI. The four-year-old has had three runs this preparation and didn’t measure up to open class at Flemington two starts ago but has a win and a placing to her credit in her other runs. The latter two were both in this class. Her recent run came at the Mornington Saturday meeting over the 1000m and the Cliff Brown-trained galloper was held up in the straight before driving hard late to run 3rd behind Fasuto. This looks right in her wheelhouse and she draws to get the run of the race from barrier 5 with Blake Shinn to ride.

Race 3 No. 3 BURLINGTON GATE- ($6) 

BURLINGTON GATE has been catching the eye at her two runs this time in. The Mike Moroney-trained filly was runner-up over the unsuitable 1300m when resuming before stepping to the 1600m and producing the fastest last 400m and 200m when 3rd behind Disturbia at Mornington. That came on a slow tempo and she came out wide before chasing well. The  daughter of The Autumn Sun has the fitness under the belt and the 1800m suits.

Race 5 No. 10 SCORCH- ($10) 

SCORCH has been knocking on the door in his two runs this preparation and can just about get the chocolates in Race 5. The Team Hawkes-trained galloper was a  narrow runner-up at Caulfield when resuming over the 1200m when posted wide before heading to Sandown and again filling the exacta. That came behind Pivot City and the son of Impending produced the fastest last 200m. He should be ready to peak at his third runs and won’t be far away in the run from barrier 6.
