BEST BET 🏆

Race 10:  No. 6  LUCKY SWEYNESSE  ($3.40  Unibet)

The Manfred Man-trained LUCKY SWEYNESSE is yet to miss a podium finish after six career starts and this event looks like bringing up another top-three finish today. Last start, the promising Sweynesse gelding struck interference at barrier rise which ultimately cost him victory in a Class 2 Hcp over 1200m at Happy Valley. Despite that, he still took home second prize and ran the trip, 5.6 lengths quicker than benchmark, the best in this line-up. Zac Purton returns for the ride today (as he attempts to take out the Jockey’s 2022 Premiership, currently tied with Joao Moreira on 132 winners each). Purton has already ridden the three-year-old three times, boasting two wins and a minor placing. With a trouble-free run today, this could event could see Purton holding up the trophy at the end of the day.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 7:  No. 9  KA YING EXCELLENT  ($6  BlueBet)

The Benno Yung-trained KA YING EXCELLENT has been knocking on the door at his past few runs and gets his chance today in this contest. Last start, the Holy Roman Emperor gelding beat all but one home in a Class 3 Hcp, here over 1400m. He ran the trip out, 8.5 lengths quicker than benchmark, a new personal best for him and the best here by 5 lengths. He also posted the fastest final 600m, 400m and 200m sectionals for the race. Harry Bentley sticks with him here and ideally drawn in gate three, he looks a genuine chance to bring up win number three on the track today.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 8:  No. 6  FANTASTIC TREASURE  ($7.50  bet365)

David Hayes saddles-up FANTASTIC TREASURE here and third-up today, the track specialist looks ideally placed to return to the winner’s circle here. Last start, the Written Tycoon gelding wasn’t too far away when finishing fifth in a Class 2 Hcp, here over 1400m. He covered his last 600m, 6.8 lengths quicker than benchmark, the best in this field. He gets the gun-run today from gate one and has Karis Teetan in control for the first time. Already a five-time winner at the track and a winner when third-up previously, he can give this contest a real shake today.
