Locally-trained by Liam Birchley, MR ENCORE has found his mojo this time in and looks a strong chance of bringing up the hat-trick today. Last start, the Sidestep gelding made it back-to-back victories when he clobbered his rivals in a BM58 Hcp over 860m at Gatton. Carrying 61kgs, he led from barrier to box and put 3.5 lengths on them in the process. James Orman is the new pilot today and already a track and distance winner, the four-year-old looks the one to beat again in this contest.

Race 7: No.6 SIAN STAR
Local trainer, Darryl Hansen saddles-up SIAN STAR here who is in career-best form and looks all set to continue the good work in this contest. Last start, the Star Turn gelding made it four-straight top-two finishes when he beat all but one home in a BM62 Hcp over 1350m at Ipswich. Drawn out and carrying 60.5kgs, he settled mid-field in the 14-strong line-up, spotting the leaders seven lengths at one stage but showed plenty of fight to pass all but the winner in the run home. Jai Williams returns to steer the ship again after partnering the four-year-old to victory twice previously. At his peak today, he can get the job done.

The Stuart Kendrick-trained TORQUE ABOUT MAGIC has hit the ground running this time in and looks well placed here to keep up the good work. Last start. the Kermadec filly made it four-straight podium finishes when she beat all but one home in a BM60 Hcp over 1000m, here on the poly track. Back on the turf today, she welcomes new rider, Robbie Dolan and draws nicely here in gate five where she maps to settle mid-field with cover. Placed twice in four starts at the track and at her peak after four runs into this campaign, she looks a serious contender for the amin prize here.
