Race 5:  No.2  BAD EDUCATION  ($3.10 with Neds)

Another from the Heathcote stable is BAD EDUCATION who is high-flying after three starts this preparation and looks ideally placed here to take this contest out tonight. Last start, the Bel Esprit gelding came off a big win on this track (putting more than two lengths on a BM60 field) when he found one better and had to settle for second prize in a BM62 over 1200m at Ipswich. He had to concede the winner weight in that event where they ran 1:09.6 for the trip. Jasper Franklin was aboard for the five-year-old’s last two starts and sticks with him for this assignment. In great touch this time in and jumping from gate one tonight, he should be at his peak and will take a ton of beating here.

Race 4:  No.3  SER JOH  ($5.50 with Ladbrokes)

The Robert Heathcote-trained SER JOH resumes tonight from being gelded and a winning trial effort suggests he’s ready to pounce. Last start, the Capitalist gelding was fresh off a 16-week break when he beat all but one home in a Two-year-old Maiden, here over the 1000m sprint. He draws well in gate four tonight and maps to settle just behind the speed with cover, a distinct advantage in this Melbourne Cup sized field. Robbie Dolan steers the ship tonight and with a trouble-free run, the three-year-old looks well placed to stake his claim for victory.

Race 7:  No.3  TONI TOO  ($7.50 with Bet Right)

Local galloper, TONI TOO has strung together five-straight podium finishes and on home soil again tonight, she looks just the ticket to add another top-three finish to her resume. Last start, the Tavistock mare came off a win, here in BM58 company when she took on a similar field on a Heavy 10 that day and did well to take home third prize, beaten just half a length on the line. Two of her three career wins have come on wet tracks so conditions here will suit her for sure. She is up in class tonight but does drop 4.5kgs and has a new rider with Jim Byrne steering the ship for the first time. All three career wins have come here at Corbould Park and ideally drawn in gate two, she looks a serious player (at odds) in this line-up.
