Race 3:  No.7  PARTY SPIRIT  

The Robert Heathcote-trained PARTY SPIRIT is high-flying this time in and looks all set here for another victory. Last start, the Winning Rupert mare was shooting for four-straight when her run came to end. Facing Open company at the Gold Coast, she had excuses in the run and still managed to grab third prize in the end. She lost a plate and was diagnosed by Vets as suffering from heat-stress after the race. On a Soft 5 that day, the winner (Zoumeteor) covered the 1200m in a zippy 1:08.3 which is travelling. Four starts into this campaign now, the four-year-old should be at her peak for this and looks the one to beat.

Race 4:  No.11  DEEP TEMPEST  

The David Vandyke-trained DEEP TEMPEST is in good touch this preparation and on soil again here, looks the testing material again. Last start, the Ocean Park gelding proved too good for a Class field, here over the 1600m trip. On a Heavy 10 that day, he handled the conditions well carrying 58.5kgs as led most of the way to win by half a length on the line. He will only strip fitter for that run and nicely drawn in gate four, he maps to be near the speed again. Ryan Maloney is two from two with the five-year-old and is shooting for his own hat-trick in this contest. Looking for win number four on his home track, he looks right in the mix amongst these.

Race 8:  No.13  HOLLYWOOD NORTH  

Stuart Kendrick saddles-up HOLLYOOD NORTH here who is shooting for the hat-trick and is capable of pulling it off at odds. Last start, the Vancouver gelding made it back-to-back wins when he arrive din time to claim victory in a Class 6 Hcp over 1350m at Doomben. Facing Listed company for the first time here, he has drawn wide in gate 11 but has enough early gate speed to cross and settle near mid-field. Martin Harley is the new pilot for this assignment and the five-year-old is in career-best form since transferring over from the Chris Waller stables three starts back. Already a four-time winner over the 1400m trip, he looks a serious contender in this line-up.
