The John Smerdon-trained KESALUL has shown plenty of promise in his three race starts to date and second-up here looks the one to beat in this contest. Last start, the Supido gelding resumed off a five-month break and impressed again with a victory against BM60 company, here over the 1000m sprint. The stable fit the winkers for the first time today as Jasper Franklin takes the ride. Ideally drawn in the small field today, Franklin claims 2kgs here as the three-year-old steps-up slightly in grade and maps to be box-seating on settling. With a clear run home today, he looks mighty hard to hold out here.

Race 3:  No.8  ADALIE  ($2.70 with Ladbrokes)

With half the field already scratched from the event, the job now should be even easier for the David Vandyke-trained ADALIE who resumes today and looks the goods on fresh legs. Last start, the Exceed And Excel mare ended her first (three-start) campaign by winning her maiden, here over the 1000m sprint. Box-seating to the turn, she had it covered and went on with it as all $1.65 favourites should, crossing the line a length ahead of them. She has been off the scene for seven months now but lined-up in a recent trial on this track and won that by five lengths. Angela Jones pilot’s the mare for the first time today where she is ideally drawn in gate two and looks set to lead them all the way today.

Race 7:  No.8  ALLOW ME  ($4.40 with Neds)

With this contest depleted by scratchings, it leaves the task of winning a little easier now for ALLOW ME who is second-up and well in contention for the first prize. Last start, the Spirit Of Boom filly resumed off a 19-week break when she came from behind to grab third prize in a BM60 Hcp, here over the 1000m sprint. Beaten less than two lengths on the line, it was an impressive effort on fresh legs. Fitter for that run, she draws much closer to the fence after the early scratchings and maps to be near field with cover. Mark Du Plessis has the reins today and in the smaller field, she can play a hand in the finish today.
