Race 1: No. 9 WINDJANA ($3.80 bet365)
The Lindsay Hatch-trained WINDJANA is third-up tonight and looks poised for back-to-back victories here. Last start, the Headwater mare went one better than her first-up effort when she broke through for Maiden win, here over the 1000m trip. She ran her last 600m, half a length slower than benchmark, still the best here. She also ran the fastest final 800m to 200m sectionals for the race. Drawn nicely in gate six, she maps to settle better than mid-field as Jake Molloy sticks with her tonight. She looks like she means business this preparation and should take beating here.

Race 2: No. 2 SAM’S A NATURAL ($6 Palmerbet)
Warwick-based galloper SAM’S A NATURAL has improved with each start this time in and looks a real threat here. Last start, the Denman gelding made it third-time-lucky when he took out a BM58 Hcp, here over 1100m. He ran that out, 3.7 lengths slower than benchmark, second-best behind Mt Mort Shark (who is resuming here after more than a year off the scene). Montanna Savva returns for the ride tonight and she sports a solid record with the galloper, steering him to three of his four career victories. Already a two-time winner at the track, he can give this a real shake tonight.

Race 3: No. 2 COMFORTABLY NUMB ($8.50 bet365)
Local galloper COMFORTABLY NUMB has mixed his form this time in but looks well placed here to get back on track tonight. Last start, the Love Conquers All gelding came off a good win here two starts back when he failed to fire in a BM60 over 1400m at Gatton. Despite finishing unplaced, he still ran a new personal best, covering the trip, 3.8 lengths slower than benchmark, the best in this line-up by more than 3 lengths. Karl Zechner sticks with him tonight and from a nice draw in gate five, he can bounce back here at odds.
