Wyong Tips 28/07/2022

BEST BET 🏆

Race 4 No. 8 SIGHTSEER – ($3.80)

SIGHTSEER steps out in Race 4 of the day and will be out to go one spot better than a debut effort that saw him finish runner-up at Newcastle on June 11 over the 1200m behind Resistable. In that race, the Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott-trained galloper settled on the speed and couldn’t quite go with the winner at the business end but stuck on fairly to fill the exacta. The son of I Am Invincible went 2.8 lengths slower than standard benchmark, which is better than what any horse in this race has produced in their careers to date. He draws wide for this but has the early toe to cross over and will strip fitter at his second career run.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 8 No. 8 DIJON – ($4.40)

DIJON can end the day a winner. The Gerald Ryan-trained galloper has had two runs this preparation, finishing runner-up in both of those. The most recent of those came at Hawkesbury over the 1000m and he produced the fastest last 200m but couldn’t quite reel in Alpha One, while there was a five length gap back to 3rd. The son of Headwater went 3.1 lengths faster than standard benchmark, which is four lengths better than the nest best last start figures of any runner. He was a winner third up at his last preparation and draws barrier 4 with Brendan Avdulla to ride. He provides a 17% profit on turnover when combining with this stable.

Best Value 💰 (EACH-WAY)

Race 6 No. 17 NAVAJO PEAK- ($8)

Hoping the fifth emergency, NAVAJO PEAK, can sneak into the field here. The recent acquisition to the David Payne stables has won two of five and stepped out for his new trainer on July 22 at Hawkesbury, taking out a Class 1 in impressive fashion from Transplant, while there was a big gap back to the 3rd placegetter. He jumps to a Benchmark 64 but can measure up and comes in with the best last start benchmark figures of any runner, while he draws well in barrier 4.
