BEST BET 🏆

GORGEOUS VITALITY  (Race 8  No.6 – $2.60)

Frankie Lor saddles-up GORGEOUS VITALITY here who ticks all the boxes and looks poised to make it a hat-trick tonight. Last start, the Deep Field gelding destroyed his Class 4 rivals when he put 3.5 lengths on them over the 1000m sprint. He ran that out, 3.7 lengths quicker than benchmark, third-best here behind Super Axiom (who is also shooting for three-straight tonight but is yet to see the podium after six starts on the Happy Valley track). Zac Purton has ridden the three-year-old to his last two (straight) victories and sticks with him here. He is facing Class 3 company for the first time tonight but does drop 3.5kgs from his last-start win. That last-start barrier to box effort carrying top weight was too impressive to ignore and looks a big chance of winning this contest tonight.

NEXT BEST 🥈

YOUTHFUL  DEAL  (Race 4 No. 3 – $5.50)

The Frankie Lor-trained YOUTHFUL DEAL has his first race start tonight and the indications are he can win on debut. The Deep Field gelding won both trials in Australia before being shipped-off to Hong Kong where he trialled three more times, winning his most recent in good fashion. With Zac Purton aboard, he sat outside the leader then took control of the situation, going on to an impressive win, crossing the line 2.5 lengths ahead of the rest, under a tight rein. Purton has the job tonight and in a battle with Joao Moreira for Premiership honours (Purton is currently 2 wins ahead of the ‘magic man’), he will give the unraced three-year-old every chance in this contest.

BEST VALUE 💰

MY  ECSTATIC  (Race 7  No. 5 – $6.00)

Another Frankie Lor galloper is MY ECSTATIC and in good touch of late, looks a sneaky chance at odds tonight. Last start, the All Too Hard gelding made it two wins from his past three starts when he outstayed them in a Class 3 Hcp, here over tonight’s trip. He ran it out, 8.2 lengths quicker than benchmark, the best in this field by 4 lengths. That effort was also a new personal best for him. Derek Leung sticks with him again (after tasting success, twice previously) and although in weight, he draws perfectly in gate three and will take catching again.
