Race 9: No. 5 TUCHEL ($1.70 with Unibet)
The John Size-trained TUCHEL has shown plenty of promise recently and looks well placed here to bring up the hat-trick today. Last start, the Redwood gelding made it two-straight when he clobbered his rivals in a Class 4 over 1400m. Carrying 60.5kgs, he put more than two lengths on them over line, running the trip, 5.6 lengths quicker than benchmark, setting a new personal best and running the fastest final 400m and 200m sectionals as well. He steps un grade today, but with Zac Purton sticking with him and getting the gun-run from gate one here, he should manage the transition and looks the best of the day.

Race 6: No. 8 STUNNING IMPACT ($3.50 with BlueBet)
The Paul O’Sullivan-trained STUNNING IMPACT is in hot form of late and ticks all the boxes here to suggest he is a winning chance today. Last start, the Zoustar gelding was shooting for back-to-back wins here when he beat all but one to the line in a Class 4 over 1400m. Coming from mid-field, he ran home strongly but failed by half a length to reel in the leader. Joao Moreira sticks with him today and ideally drawn in gate three, he gets his chance to make amends here.

Race 7: No. 3 NERVOUS WITNESS ($3.50 with Unibet)
Former Australian trainer David Hayes saddles-up STUNNING IMPACT here who is yet to miss a podium finish in six career starts and looks poised to keep that record intact today. Last start, the Star Witness gelding contested his first Group 3 contest and impressed by finishing runner-up behind the smart Cordyceps Six in the Sha Tin Vase (1200m). He ran the trip out in a new personal best, 12.4 lengths quicker than benchmark, the best here by more than 2 lengths. This is a little easier today and already a three-time winner at the track, he looks a genuine winning chance at odds here.
