Race 3:  No.1  RECOMMENDATION  ($1.85 with Neds

The Maher & Eustace-trained RECOMMENDATION was an impressive debutant at Gosford and on that performance, looks the one to beat again today. On debut. The Shalaa colt led from barrier to box, crossing the line more than a length in front of the rest in the 1100m Maiden. He ran his last 600m, 3.8 lengths quicker than benchmark, the best here by more than 8 lengths. He also recorded the fastest final 200m sectional for the race. Andrew Gibbons has control today and while the colt has extra weight to carry here, he can only improve on a debut run. We are two from two with Anchor Bets this week, this young fellow looks the goods in making it three today.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 6:  No. 7  THE CHOSEN ONE  ($5.50 with Ladbrokes

The Damien Lane-trained THE CHOSEN ONE was a dual-acceptor today (scratched from race four, along with stablemate Denetta) and second-up today looks well placed in the small field to bring up win number three. Last start, the Choisir gelding was fresh off a 16-week spell when he finished a respectable third in a BM64 Hcp over 1350m at Wyong. He ran that out, 5.6 lengths slower than benchmark, still the best in this line-up, and posted the fastest final 800m to 200m sectionals for the race as well. Drawn the fence today, he has Ash Morgan in the saddle for the first time and already a winner when second-up and a winner at the track, he looks a big chance in this contest and is capable of upsetting his stablemate and race favourite here.

Race 4:  No. 10  MON AMORE  ($12 with Palmerbet

The Paul Perry-trained MON AMORE sports a major gear change today which just might change her luck today and see her salute at double-figure odds. Last start, the Sebring mare made it consecutive minor placings when she finished third in a BM66 Hcp over 1350m at Newcastle. She ran her last 600m, 3 lengths quicker than benchmark, the best in this field by more than 5 lengths. Grant Buckley hops off her today and Clayton Gallagher returns after two previous runner-up finishes with the mare. Perry has fitted a tongue tie on her today and without a win in eight starts this year, she is well and truly overdue and just might give this lot a fright at odds here.
