VRC KENNEDY OAKS BETTING SNAPSHOT

It is the Sydney galloper, She’s Extreme, that has been posted as a $2.60 chance with NEDS after a last start 3rd in the Spring Champion Stakes (2000m) against the colts and geldings at Randwick.

The Wakeful Stakes (2000m) winner, Zennzella, is next in line at $6.50, while Renaissance Woman and Queen Air are both at $7.50. Pavrita and Foxy Cleopatra are at $9.50, while As Time Goes By heads the rest at the $12.

VRC KENNEDY OAKS FORM ANALYSIS

Hard to knock the Spring Champion Stakes form with Manzoice, who was 8th, and the winner, Sharp ‘N’ Smart, providing the exacta in the Victoria Derby (2500m) last Saturday.

She’s Extreme settled towards the rear in the 12-horse field in the Spring Champion at Randwick and didn’t enjoy much room as they cornered before producing the fastest last 400m and 200m of the race. She went 7.6 lengths faster than standard.

Renaissance Woman was solid, landing in 6th position, just ahead of Manzoice. She landed three lengths away and defeated a few of the rivals that she meets in the Oaks at her start prior in the Ethereal Stakes (2000m).

Six of the 11 runners come out of the Wakeful Stakes. The past four winners of the Oaks have used the Wakeful as their final lead up with three of those completing the double, including Willowy in 2021.

This year, Zennzella settled handy at Flemington on Derby Day and was strong through the line to hold out Pavrita, while there was a two length gap back to As Time Goes By, who was a bit dour. Queen Air caught the eye for 4th, producing the fastest last 200m.

Letsbefrankbaby produced the second fastest last 200m to run 5th, while Makrana battled into 9th. The winner went 9.3 lengths faster than standard, which is better than what any horse in this race has produced.

That came off a hot tempo and they went 14.7 lengths faster than standard until he 600m mark. It will be interesting to see how that group fare on the back up.

Foxy Cleopatra heads into this with nearly three weeks in between runs. That came when runner-up in the Ethereal behind Renaissance Woman. She was held up before the turn and switched out wide before running on, going 5.4 lengths faster than standard.

There are two other runners in the field and they are Sirius Princess and Albanian Icon. Both will line up at huge odds after finishing down the track in the Geelong Classic (2200m).

VRC KENNEDY OAKS TIPS AND BEST BETS

Keen on She’s Extreme in the Kennedy Oaks. We can take a line through the form of Renaissance Woman, who was 6th in the Spring Champion with her form comparing favourably with those coming out of the Wakeful. She had the measure of Foxy Cleopatra and Pavitra at her start prior with the latter going close in the Wakeful. She’s Extreme has been up against some of the best, including her Golden Rose (1400m) run that saw her finish 6th behind the likes of Jacquinot and In Secret and not far from Golden Mile. She was strong to the line in the Spring Champion and will find a cushy position in the run from barrier 1 with Tommy Berry on board.
