Below is our assessment of the 2021 edition of the race:

A final field of 12 has been declared for Saturday’s Group 1 Memsie Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield following the barrier draw.

Defending winner Behemoth has drawn barrier nine for trainer David Jolly. The six-year-old gelding will be ridden by Jamie Kah as he races second up from a spell following a win in the Group 3 Spring Stakes (1200m) at Morphettville on August 14.

The James Cummings-trained five-year-old mare Colette has drawn the outside barrier in the field of 12 runners and will have Damien Oliver in the saddle. She was last seen running fourth in the Group 1 Queen of the Turf Stakes (1600m) back in April.

Michael Moroney saddles up six-year-old mare Tofane who has found some excellent form during the winter capturing the Group 1 Stradbroke Handicap (1400m) and Group 1 Tattersall’s Tiara (1400m). Craig Williams retains the ride and they will begin from gate four.

Beau Rossa drew the inside barrier, Aegon has gate seven and Streets Of Avalon jumps from 10.
