Ascot Racing Tips 31 Oct 2026: Hot And High 3 From 3?

Overview

Hot And High has been to Ascot twice and won both times, and on Saturday Chris Parnham takes the gelding into the Asian Beau Stakes chasing a third straight win at the track. The form line reads 1-11211 coming in, it won its only start in the past three months, and that pair of Ascot wins earned more than $112,000. It is the cleanest profile on a ten-race card and the reason Race 9 holds our biggest bet of the day.

The rest of the program is solid Perth Saturday fare: three restricted-class handicaps, two benchmark races, the Placid Ark Prelude for the three-year-old sprinters and the Prince Of Wales Stakes over 1000m. The track is rated Good to Soft. These Ascot racing tips run from the 11:44AM staying race to the 5:28PM last, all times AWST, with a pick, the main danger and a staking call in every race. No bookmaker had a market open on any race when this was written, so there are no prices quoted below; check the bookmakers listed before you bet.

Reading the Ascot card

Course form is deep for a Perth card. Eight of today’s runners have had five or more starts at Ascot, and two of them stand out for opposite reasons: Afireofgidgeecoals has never missed the first three here, while Audio Boy has run a place in six of seven Ascot starts without once getting its head in front.

Horse Runs Wins Places Win% Place%
Afireofgidgeecoals 5 2 5 40.0 100.0
Admire Astra 5 0 4 0.0 80.0
Audio Boy 7 0 6 0.0 85.7
Late Arrival 5 0 3 0.0 60.0
Street Band 5 0 3 0.0 60.0
Cut The Talk 5 0 2 0.0 40.0
Noble Connection 6 2 2 33.3 33.3

The riding ranks split cleanly. Two jockeys win more than a fifth of their Ascot rides and nobody else is close.

Jockey Runs Wins Places Win% Place%
Chris Parnham 115 25 55 21.7 47.8
Lucy Fiore 141 31 65 22.0 46.1
B Parnham 131 17 50 13.0 38.2
Taj Dyson 14 1 5 7.1 35.7
Holly Nottle 156 17 54 10.9 34.6
Jarrad Noske 36 4 12 11.1 33.3
Trainer Runs Wins Places Win% Place%
C & M Gangemi 48 6 25 12.5 52.1
D L Morton 74 13 35 17.6 47.3
Mitchell Pateman 53 13 25 24.5 47.2
T M Andrews 38 8 16 21.1 42.1
Luke Fernie 61 9 25 14.8 41.0
Michael Grantham 56 12 21 21.4 37.5

Lucy Fiore has nine rides on the card and a good share of them are live, while Mitchell Pateman wins with roughly one runner in four at this track, the best strike rate of any trainer with real volume here.

Ascot race-by-race tips

Race 1: Wittens Irrigation And Design (Rs1mw), 11:44AM, 2200m

Can anything in this small field out-stay I Love Ya Money? The Mitchell Pateman gelding has placed in both of its Ascot starts and has been in the first three in four of five runs over the past three months, including a win. That kind of consistency over ground is exactly what an eight-horse 2200m race rewards, and Holly Nottle gets a sensible 58kg to carry from barrier 5.

Streamlined is the one to fear. It has two wins from four runs in the same window and carries top weight of 60kg for the Chris Parnham and Michael Grantham partnership, but it was beaten at its latest Ascot run and now has to give I Love Ya Money 2kg. Win bet on I Love Ya Money, with Streamlined the saver in a quinella.

Race 2: Tabtouch Westspeed Platinum (Rs0ly), 12:24PM, 1400m

Too Much Talk and Noahquintilly are scratched, which leaves eight and takes some speed out of the race. Bondi’s Future is the horse with the class: the form line reads 1114 before a break, and it ran second at its only start in the past three months, as it did at its only Ascot run. Lucy Fiore takes the ride and the 60kg top weight is the price of that profile.

Linchpin is the main danger with one win and two placings from six Ascot starts and a second at its latest run. Street Band has placed three times from five here without winning, so it is a place player at best. Bondi’s Future, each-way given the weight.

Race 3: Schweppes (Rs0ly), 1:04PM, 1800m

I’m Nipote has the most reliable form in a big, ordinary field. It has been placed in all three Ascot starts, winning one, and it has hit the first three in all four runs over the past three months. The form line has gone 8-9-3-2-2-1, the shape of a horse improving into its races rather than one hanging on. Lucy Fiore rides again, from barrier 9 with 56.5kg.

Admire Astra is the obvious danger and the obvious frustration: four placings from five Ascot starts and still no win at the track. It will be there at the finish again. Space Academy is scratched. Win bet on I’m Nipote, with Admire Astra underneath in the trifecta.

Race 4: Choices By Dallimores (Bm72+), 1:48PM, 1200m

Cinque Stelle comes in on three straight wins, the form reading 1-2-0-1-1-1, and it has won both runs in the past three months. The benchmark rise is the question, but 54.5kg from the inside gate gives C Johnston-Porter every chance to sit handy and use that winning momentum. The Steele Casey stable has it in form and there is no reason to oppose it.

Like Clockwork is the danger. It has run twice at Ascot for a win and a second and gets the Chris Parnham and Michael Grantham treatment again. If the pace is strong and Cinque Stelle has to do the work, Like Clockwork is the one finishing over it. Cinque Stelle to win.

Race 5: Mrs Mac’s (Rs1mw), 2:24PM, 1100m

Hard race. Raw Umber is out, which leaves ten with very little between the top half. Anaconda Jones is the lightly raced one with upside: form of 3-1-3-3-1, a win and a third from two Ascot runs, and barrier 1 with 55kg. Gi Gi Pops has placed in all three Ascot starts but has been runner-up so often it is hard to trust for the win.

Scream won its only run in the past three months and is the other one in the mix for Chris Parnham. Small win on Anaconda Jones if you must, but this is a race to watch rather than load up on.

Race 6: Tabtouch Placid Ark Prelude, 3:03PM, 1100m

Afireofgidgeecoals has started five times at Ascot, won two and placed in all five. For a three-year-old, that is genuine course form, not a lucky run or two. It ran second at its only start in the past three months and the form line of 9-1-3-1-2-2 says it keeps turning up. Lucy Fiore rides for D L Morton, who places close to half his Ascot runners, and 59kg is the price of being the best horse in the race.

Morning Thunder is the danger: a form line of 1-2-2, and it won its only Ascot start. Chris Parnham riding for Luke Fernie makes it a live one, and it gets a 3kg pull in the weights. Dynastic Lass is scratched. Afireofgidgeecoals to win, and it is our banker for the multis.

Race 7: Drummond Golf (Bm66+), 3:41PM, 1600m

The market problem here is Audio Boy. Six placings from seven Ascot runs make it the most consistent horse on the track, but the seventh number is zero wins, and its only run in the past three months was a seventh. It is a place proposition and nothing more.

Western Miss is the one to beat it. The mare won its only start at Ascot and its only run in the past three months, and the form line of 2-1-1-1-3-1 shows a horse in a rich vein. Chris Parnham rides for Michael Grantham, and the pair have won four of nine together at this track with six placings. Barrier 10 asks a question over 1600m, but the pace should spread the field.

Decoration is the danger, a winner at its only Ascot start with two wins from four runs in the past three months for the Pearce stable. Defending is scratched. Win bet on Western Miss, with Audio Boy each-way for those who want the place.

Race 8: Tabtouch Prince Of Wales Stakes, 4:16PM, 1000m

Two horses, two profiles. Immortal Bliss carries 58.5kg with the class: one win and one second from two Ascot starts and more than $158,000 earned from just two runs in the past three months. Dawn Dancer carries 53kg with momentum: two wins from four runs in that period and a form line of 1-1-1-2-1-0.

The 5.5kg gap is significant over 1000m, but Immortal Bliss earned that weight against better horses, and Lucy Fiore can sit just off the speed from barrier 7. Dawn Dancer was unplaced last start and needs to bounce back. Oscar’s Fortune is scratched. Immortal Bliss to win, with Dawn Dancer the saver.

Race 9: Hosemasters Asian Beau Stakes, 4:51PM, 1400m

Hot And High is the bet of the day. Two starts at Ascot, two wins. A form line of 1-1-1-2-1-1. A win at its only run in the past three months, and $68,500 for that one success. D M Luciani has placed the gelding perfectly all preparation and Chris Parnham, who wins more than a fifth of his rides here, has the inside gate to work with. At 56.5kg the weights are not a burden.

Hurricane Harley is the danger and it is not a soft one: two wins from four runs in the past three months and placed in every one of them, with 54kg on its back. Holly Nottle will be riding for the leader’s back. Playin’it Sweet has placed in all three Ascot starts and is the third pick. Win bet on Hot And High, with an exacta saver on Hurricane Harley.

Race 10: Lawn Pride Australia (Bm66+), 5:28PM, 1400m

Western Lady closes the day for the Michael Grantham stable, and the mare’s form line of 1-2-2-1-1 is the most consistent in a field of twelve. It has had two Ascot starts for a win and a second, and Lucy Fiore gets on at 57kg from barrier 5.

Rock Fest won first-up at its only start at Ascot and its only run in the past three months, and it carries 59.5kg because the handicapper rates it. Prince Of Dala, with form of 1-1-4-1-2, is the other horse to include. Western Lady to win, with Rock Fest and Prince Of Dala in the exotics.

Where the money goes

NAP: Hot And High (Race 9, 4:51PM). Unbeaten at Ascot from two starts and a winner at its latest run, with one of the two best riders at the track on top. Everything about this horse says it is still going up.

Value: Western Miss (Race 7, 3:41PM). No price was available at the time of writing, but a mare on a winning run with the best partnership at the track and a wide gate could easily be overlooked in the market.

Banker: Afireofgidgeecoals (Race 6, 3:03PM). Five Ascot starts, five times in the first three. That is the safest leg on the card for a multi.

Each-way: Audio Boy (Race 7, 3:41PM). Six Ascot placings from seven starts. If you want a horse to hit the first three, this is the one.

Course angle: Mitchell Pateman. One runner in four wins for this stable at Ascot, and I Love Ya Money in the opener gives you an early look at whether that pattern holds.

If Hot And High makes it three from three at Ascot, it becomes the horse every Perth form student follows through the summer.
