Race 1 No. 1 DEIFIC- ($1.28)

DEIFIC can get the job done in the opener on Ararat Cup day. The Symon Wilde-trained galloper was solid on debut, settling handy and sticking to the task to finish runner-up behind Salassi by just over half a length. He gapped the 3rd placegetter by four lengths on the Heavy 9. Improvement to come at his second start and the son of Lonhro is in good hands.

Race 4 No. 18 BRINICLE- ($2.90)

Hoping the fourth emergency, BRINICLE, can sneak into the field for this race. The Aaron Purcell-trained galloper has has led at his two starts and was taken on a long way out at Hamilton on debut when sticking on for 4th before being run down at a Saturday meeting at Morphettville on October 22 over the 1050m by Cold Case. The 3rd placegetter out of that has come out and won and Brinicle went 0.7 lengths faster than standard benchmark, which is better than what any of these have produced. Linda Meech rides and will look to take up a front-running role.
