Race 5 No. 8 GODDESS OF GIVING – ($3.90)
Lou Luciani must have always held an opinion of GODDESS OF GIVING, allowing her a crack at the Sire’s in her debut prep. She may have failed to flatter that day; however, she has impressed with her four other runs. Jason Whiting settled her well off the speed which was clearly against the pattern of the day. He pulled her as the widest into the straight to come out and chase two smart horses in Revitup and Sky Duke. Goddess Of Giving was always going to run a credible third once she passed Street parade inside the 300m. She instead somehow pinged the ears back to have one last crack. Goddess Of Giving found the line in front that day and finds another race where the leaders again should feel some pressure early.

Race 2 No. 6 THE LADY IS A VAMP – ($5)
The speed was on up front as THE LADY IS A VAMP came away evenly with them third-up at Ascot. Holly Watson found a spot midfield and one-off the rail as Born To Talk hummed along in front. She looked to follow Costume Party into the run who didn’t quite take her in as the winner Nobeillty went for home. Watson continued to ride hard hands and heels as The Lady Is A Vamp finished quickly between horses. Finds a similar race where a repeat of last start puts her into the frame again.

Race 3 No. 2 UNIVERSAL PLAYBOY – ($9)
The opener at Ascot was run at a furious pace which was set by UNIVERSAL PLAYBOY. Michael Lane had sent the 3yo to town after breaking his maiden at Northam then Pinjarra. Chris Parnham allowed him to run along in the small field before finding another length into the straight. Universal Playboy was still going strong inside the furlong and only started to shorten stride near the 50m. He was claimed by Potshot who had the cheap run off his back while holding the others out to the line. Universal Playboy puts himself into his races early and can figure here under Troy Turner.
