Race 5 No. 3 REVITUP – ($3.50)
The opening race on Winterbottom Stakes Day proved to be all quality as Charge led the way at a quick gallop. The filly REVITUP had to do it the hard way as she attempted to cross from her outer barrier draw. Punters had backed her to start as the favourite following her first-up second to the smart My Bella Mae. They collected their cash as she kicked strongly to deny Can’t Be Done who threw down the gauntlet by the furlong. They ran about 1 Length slower than the G1 Winterbottom later in the day, while that field also came home around 2 Lengths faster L600m. Gutsy from Revitup to do it on the pace and we’ll back her to do it that way again on Saturday.

Race 4 No. 4 WEAPONSON – ($4)
Daniel Morton turns to master horseman John Allen to find that edge in bringing about an overdue win for WEAPONSON. He’s fitter for two recent runs back including a sharp 1000 metre race here when he didn’t find a lot of room near the fence. Lucy Warwick gave Weaponson a treat at his following start which was over this track and distance. We black booked the winner in Burnya To Survive who looked a class above when racing on by. Weaponson remained honest in holding all-else out to the line. Warwick sides with another smart one here in Bitofmerit with that pair having their task cut out from the gate. Weaponson is racing well, and Allen will give him every chance off an ideal draw.

Race 6 No. 2 BUZZOOM – ($6.50)
Daniel Morton has BUZZOOM out to a mile at fourth run back. Her first two runs were behind Sniparoochy over the sharper sprint trips before scoring over seven furlongs in Listed grade. Johnny Allen brought her with a well-timed run to overwhelm her rivals from up the middle of the track. Buzzoom meets the mares while full of confidence and can settle closer out to the mile with not a lot of speed in the race. Tactics will play a big part in this small field and while Buzzoom possesses a powerful turn of foot, she’s going to need to race handy enough to use it.
