Ascot Tips 26/10/2022

BEST BET 🏆

Race 1 No. 5 No. 5 AMJAAD – ($2.90)

Tactics will play a role in the outcome of the first with both Patrick Carbery and Laqdar Ramoly holding the keys to the pace of the race. Would think these two hold out Brad Parnham who would be happy to find a sit from his wide gate on Missile Storm. We’re going to side with Carbery’s mount AMJAAD who showed plenty of grit and determination to knock off her maiden while resuming. Carbery stalked the leader over the 1400 metres at Northam before fighting a three-horse war up the straight. Amjaad put the nose down where it counted with the rise to the mile seemingly ideal in a race with little tempo on paper.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 8 No. 2 CRITICAL ALTITUDE – ($8.50)

Steven Parnham saddles-up again as CRITICAL ALTITUDE somehow held a margin on the line over No Dice last start. The pair rolled forward to sit outside the leader when racing over this track and trip while second-up. Critical Altitude took over into the straight and raced clear before surviving in the narrowest of finishes. This race rates fairly similar with perhaps a softer pace map for parnham to roll forward and control. Only rises half a kilo and will also have taken some fitness improvement from the run.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 4 No. 1 SUCCESS PLAY – ($11)

Neville Parnham finds a good kick-off point for SUCCESS PLAY who caught the eye when resuming over this track and trip last time in. He drew wide that day with the rider restraining him to a midfield position without cover. He came home hard under apprentice Keshaw Dhurun to look the winner inside the furlong. As usual, it took just one horse to peel off his back when My Dilemma claimed the close photo on the line. Drawn inside here in a race without a lot of pressure, any of which is expected to cross from the wider barriers. Dhurun can be close enough from his draw before producing Success Play into the straight.
