Ascot Tips 26/11/2022

BEST BET 🏆

Race 9 No. 10 PLAYING MARIKA – ($7.50)

Stephanie Bakranich trained mare PLAYING MARIKA has shown to come back in great order this prep. Usually takes a few runs to find her best; however, Playing Marika has put the writing on the wall with fast finishes over 1400 and 1600m respectively. She closed off again when staying to the mile third-up at Ascot as Troy Turner circled the field off an even tempo. Big Screen led to the turn before kicking strongly to win. Playing Marika let him know that she was there on the line, and she would only strip fitter again. We were on last start with fingers crossed for some luck off an inside draw which didn’t eventuate. We’ll put a line through that run and Playing Marika looks better suited here with some room to move.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 1 No. 1 TITAN BLINDERS – ($6.50)

Chris & Michael Gangemi have given tough older gelding TITAN BLINDERS a month between runs as they tackle the opener at Ascot on Saturday. Titan Blinders has finished all around the mark this prep and should find the drop in class to his liking. He has been on the wrong side of the photo twice in his past three starts at Group and Listed level. Both of those runs were over his preferred seven-furlong trip before being outclassed at his latest by Treasured Star. There’s pace a plenty over this 1200 metre contest and it may just take that seasoned 1400 metre horse to get the better of this field.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 7 No. 10 COME RIGHT BACK – ($13)

We felt a touch of confidence about backing prolific winner COME RIGHT BACK on resumption at Ascot. We felt with little tempo in the race that Lucy Warwick may get him rolling early with the big weight. Running in the last of the day also had us thinking Come Right Back could roll over them out wide. Unfortunately, the horse missed the kick forcing Warwick back towards the inside. The pair missed the run on the winners back when turning for home before remaining untested to the line. Has since had two runs in Listed grade to prepare him out to a trip. Should roll somewhere forward for Kyra Yuill and be ready to show his best.
