Race 6 No. 10 WOK STAR- ($1.95)

Best Bet comes up in Race 6 and it is WOK STAR that should be hard to beat after an eight-length romp at Echuca on September 10 over the 1000m. That came on Heavy ground and the Busuttin/Young galloper didn’t beat much but did manage to run good time relative to this company, leading all the way to go 2.4 lengths slower than standard benchmark. She was runner-up at her two runs earlier this preparation, going two lengths slower than standard at her other run on Heavy. Likely to get those conditions again here and the daughter of Zoustar should handle the step up to the 1200m.

Race 7 No. 2 QURAYSHA- ($1.75)

QURAYSHA can chalk up the second win of her career when she steps out in Race 7. The Maher/Eustace galloper has had four starts for a win at her last preparation at Kilmore and resumed over the 1000m at Warracknabeal on September 20, running on to just miss out behind San Marino, filling the exacta behind that horse. That came off a very slow early tempo and she was held up along the inside until the 200m. Second up last time she endured a torrid run when 10th at Sandown in a BenchMark 70 at Sandown over the 1300m behind Canbya. This looks much easier and with clear air this time around the four-year-old should be hard to beat.
