Bairnsdale Tips 14/12/2022
BEST BET 🏆
Race 9 No. 9 PEINTRE’S PRIDE– ($2.50)
PEINTRE’S PRIDE might be worth sticking with in the final event of the day. The three-year-old has had the one career run for a win at Moe on Heavy going back on October 14 and heads to a BenchMark 58. At her debut, she lined up in a field of just four runners before exerting authority at the business end to defeat Lacemaker and Major Key, who has since come out and won at Pakenham. The daughter of Magnus went 2.2 lengths slower than standard, which is the best last start figure of any runner. Any improvement off that at her second start and she should be fighting out the finish.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 7 No. 2 OXLEY JACK- ($2.90)
OXLEY JACK has been in solid form of late and will take a bit of beating in Race 7. The six-year-old was a strong winner in a BenchMark 58 at the track and trip two starts ago, defeating Side Bet by more than a length, while there was a decent gap back to 3rd. Runner-up out of that has since gone on to win. Oxley Jack has had another start since then and went for home a long way out on the Pakenham Synthetic before running 3rd in a race that has produced four winners. Back at Bairnsdale he is the one they have to run down.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 1 No. 18 STRAPPARSI- ($4.80)
Looking to get off to a flyer at Bairnsdale and STRAPPARSI can go close in the opener. The Lloyd Kennewell-trained galloper has had two career starts and resumed off a long break at Ballarat over the 1000m on October 20 where she sped out to lead at a fast tempo before being picked off late by Drop The Verse, finishing runner-up behind that horse. The winner out of that has just missed out in a BenchMark 64 at Bendigo since then and Strapparsi went 3.6 lengths slower than standard benchmark, which is the best last start figure of any runner. Any improvement off her first up run and she should be hard to beat.
