Race 5 No. 5 YARDSTICK – ($2.70)

We saw a good win here last start from track specialist YARDSTICK in similar conditions. He jumped straight onto the bunny for Kayla Crowther to set a solid tempo throughout. Crowther was able to build further momentum when staying hard against the fence into the straight. Yardstick came away from the others with only subsequent winner Eaglelou finding the line behind him late. That may have only registered as a class one race, however there was some depth to that field. Stays to trip here and should find a similar firm deck to race on again.

Race 1 No. 7 CASSANDRA ISABEL – ($4.80)

Shane & Cassie Oxlade had CASSANDRA ISABEL ticking over nicely for a first-up tilt here last start. She’s teased us previously at a price around here and did the same again when we thought we were home inside the 100m. The odds-on pop Midnight Rush found another level late to tip Cassandra Isabel out on the line. We liked her work coming into that run and lapped up the double figures on offer. We won’t get those prices about her on Wednesday, so we’ll be cheering that bit harder for her nose this time. Cassandra Isabel races well around here and has drawn to put herself into a forward position whilst stripping fitter second-up.

Race 2 No. 11 DIVINE MISTRESS – ($15)

Anna Jordjso can take advantage of a low draw to send DIVINE MISTRESS forward once the gates open. There would also appear to be a lack of early pressure amongst this field which will advantage those racing in the first few. Divine Mistress has continually shown improvement from one trial to the next and we’ll mark her debut performance as a forget run. Trainer Emma Hubbard sent her back to the trials following that run with the application of a nose roll. Divine Mistress led throughout that trial in another improved performance, particularly in her action. She was also strong late in that Strathalbyn trial and will be hard tomorrow.
