Race 4 No. 3 SOMEWATT FABULOUS – ($4.20)
There doesn’t look to be a great deal of pressure in front which may suit Jake Toeroek with SOMEWATT FABULOUS. Same could be said for Barend Vorster who is drawn inside him on Kung Fu Fighting and we would expect the race to evolve around these two horses. Somewatt Fabulous has the benefit of race fitness, though she can be tardy away which is detrimental at Balaklava. Plenty to like about her latest where she trucked into it nicely on the turn. We’ve Blackbooked the leader He’s Exclusive and will be on for the Cup later, plus the Montign form should rate highly here.

Race 7 No. 1 ADDICTIONS – ($11)
The highly capable Britney Wong claims four kilos off bonny mare ADDICTIONS who races well here. Addictions showed enough first-up when sitting outside the leader for much of it in a strong race at Morphettville. She typically improves second-up and is drawn to follow some good speed in this. She is a proven weight carrier, as witnessed when carrying the grandstand during her last stride win before being tipped out. She won’t want too much rain; however, her record does show one win on a soft track. Trevor Montgomerie has found the right race for her, and we’re keen to follow again this prep.

Race 8 No. No. 18 HE’S EXCLUSIVE – ($23)
We Blackbooked HE’S EXCLUSIVE last start when racing second-up over the mile and setting a fast tempo. Had two fit horses in Unlaced and France’s Boy run past him late and we felt there was plenty of room for improvement. He’s Exclusive was also coming off an even effort under the 62kg’s behind Montign only seven days prior. All that form seems to stack up for what is one of the thinner Balaklava Cups in recent running’s. Still an intriguing race, just a little shy of its recent benchmark handicap ratings Eran Boyd has drawn to roll forward with most of the speed drawn outside of her. Happy to see her hand up if pressured and play the hunting role this time around.
