Balaklava Tips 23/11/2022

BEST BET 🏆

Race 6 No. 3 THE LADIES MAN – ($6.50)

Britney Wong has retained the plumb ride on THE LADIES MAN and is expected to utilise their inside draw. The Ladies Man ran out as a strong winner late in the day over this track and trip back in March this year. He beat a similar field and will be fit and ready to produce his best following two runs back this time in. Led them a merry dance under Wong over 1400m on resumption in Mildura before being claimed by the shadows of the post. Finished close-up over a mile behind Splash Some Cash who later nearly caused a boil over in running Montign to a nose. Paula Trenwith has The Ladies Man coming back to 1400 metres where Wong can keep him running strongly through the line.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 2 No. 9 CASSANDRA ISABEL – ($12)

Shane & Cassie Oxlade have CASSANDRA ISABEL ticking over well as the mare prepares to resume at Balaklava on Wednesday. She’s teased us previously at s price around here and has shown to be forward again with her two jump outs and a trial at Strathalbyn. Cassandra Isabel appeared to be travelling well within herself as Justin Potter slipped her more rein on turning during her trial. She came away with Jilladora finishing the better as asked of by her rider. That pair came away from the others with their following jump out telling a similar tale. Will likely roll forward from the wide draw out of the chute for Potter and appears fit and ready to run.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 4 No. 6 WOUNDED SOLDIER – ($15)

Being up in trip while fitter for two runs under the belt should see WOUNDED SOLDIER ready to produce his best. Dom Tourneur has previously guided this horse to a win and the pair can find a nice run under the speed here. He jagged Wounded Soldier to the tail of the field out of the gates at Murray Bridge last start. They were never going to match the early speed of a 1000 metre race at Murray Bridge and Wounded Soldier worked home okay. Dom will have him in a more comfortable rhythm over the 1200 metres while perhaps not getting as far back early.
