Race 8 No. 7 STARLEA- ($3.40)
The fillies and mares close out proceedings in a BenchMark 64 over the 1100m and STARLEA is another that can kick off her preparation with a win. The four-year-old was solid in some city races at her last preparation after claiming her Maiden at Benalla. She was placed three times before producing an eye-catching run in a BenchMark 78 at Caulfield over the 1100m before spelling. The Matthew Ellerton-trained galloper produced some tidy figures in the majority of her runs last time, including when placing first up at Bendigo. Barrier 2 and Liam Riordan are ticks. He has provided a 54% profit on turnover when combining with the stable.

Race 2 No. 5 SHEER CLASS- ($6)
SHEER CLASS can go close at his first run back from a spell. The Ben & JD Hayes-trained galloper was an improver at his debut preparation and placed in three consecutive races before spelling in May. The last of those came on the Pakenham Synthetic over the 1600m and he looked the winner before just going down at the death behind Rigoletto. The son of Nicconi went three lengths slower than standard that day, which is better than what any horse in this race has produced. Any improvement over the break and he can open his account with a win.
