Ballarat Tips 16/09/2022

BEST BET 🏆

Race 7 No. 2 MY BOY BIRMINGHAM- ($1.80)

MY BOY BIRMINGHAM should be hard to beat in Race 7 with this meeting transferred to the Ballarat Synthetic from the Turf. He has the form on the board on this surface with five wins and a couple of runner-up performances from seven starts. Last time out he led and kept going to clear out to a two-length win from Air Defence, going 3.4 lengths faster than standard benchmark. He looks the likely leader here in a race that doesn’t have huge amounts of pressure and is the one they have to catch.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 3 No. 14  LE FERRARI- ($5)

Keen on one of the emergencies for this race and that horse is LE FERRARI. The Ben & JD Hayes-trained galloper has had just the two career starts and was solid on debut when running on for 5th behind Demon Award at Bendigo over the 1100m, beaten two lengths. He was then posted wide at Sandwon on Heavy going and raced a bit keen before battling into 7th placing behind the handy Japanese Emperor. This looks easier and the stable have applied the blinkers, while the son of Toronado has been a firmer in the betting.
