BEST BET 🏆
Race 5: No.4 JACENZA ($1.90 with Unibet)
The Rod Northam-trained JACENZA was impressive on debut and is capable of going back-to-back today. Last start the Shooting To Win gelding had his first race start and did it in style, taking out a Tamworth Maiden over 1000m by almost three lengths on the line. He ran his last 600m, 3 lengths slower than benchmark, still the best here by 5 lengths. Regular stable rider Reece Jones is aboard today and from an ideal draw in gate two, should give this field something to chase.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 6: No.13 NICCOURETTE ($7.50 with Palmerbet)
Scone galloper NICCOURETTE is back to have his second crack at the Bathurst track and looks a solid chance of victory today. Last start, the Nicconi gelding took on Class 2 company over 1100m at Dubbo where he beat all but one home on a Heavy 9 that day. That was his best performance in several starts with Keagan Latham on board for the first time. Latham sticks with him here and draws to do no early work from gate three, mapping to settle better than mid-field. All three of his podium finishes have come on wet tracks so the conditions today look ideal. With a trouble-free run, he looks a real threat at odds.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 7: No.6 TUDOR PRINCE ($11 with Palmerbet)
Goulburn-based galloper TUDOR PRINCE has been in outstanding form this time in and looks well placed here for another top-class performance today. Last start, the All Too Hard gelding was coming off four-straight wins when he stepped-up to city class company and wasn’t disgraced, finishing fourth in a BM78 Hcp over 1800m at Rosehill. Trying to lead all the way, he was swamped late and beaten just half a length on the line. The front-running seven-year-old comes off an eight-week let-up today and has to deal with drawing the outside gate. However, four-time winning rider Jean Van Overmeire is in the saddle today and he will give him every chance in the feature race of the day. Making his track debut here, he looks well worth an each-way ticket today.
