Race 2 No. 3 GREY MISTRESS – ($4.80)

Brad Rawiller climbs aboard track and distance winner GREY MISTRESS as Daniel Morton looks for another win for his filly. She settled towards the back half of the field under Chris Parnham here two starts ago. She let down powerfully for him into the straight to claim Military Power late and break her maiden status. Parnham then found the outside rail as Morton sent Grey Mistress over the straight 1000 metres at Pinjarra. The pair found little luck in running only to finish strongly between horses late. Rawiller can stalk the speed in the small field on Wednesday with Grey Mistress proving hard to hold out.

Race 6 No. 2 BLUE EYED GIRL – ($3.40)

Michael Grantham found a win with BLUE EYED GIRL over six-furlongs at Pinjarra and has found a good race to follow-up with. She began typically fast with Chris Parnham allowing the mare time to build into her stride before crossing the field. Those two opened a good margin onto the others with little else coming out to apply any pressure. Blue Eyed Girl continued strongly to deny the late charge of Argent Sauvage as she went on to win her maiden. Fitter for the two runs back and can roll along early once more.

Race 3 No. 2 THE REPUBLICAN – ($16)

Jason Whiting will be on his toes to get perennial slow beginner THE REPUBLICAN out of the gates with the rest of the field. The big red often takes a run or two to find his best and will strip fitter for the two runs back. Just a run when slowly away over 1000 metres here before peeling as the widest. Whiting took the mount when racing second-up at Ascot last start. The Republican had bumped into a handy field over this trip and Whiting gave him a treat by sneaking runs near the fence. While The Republican did not let down with a lot of gusto once the cutaway appeared he did hold ground to the line. The gun-run behind the speed beckons should The Republican jump cleanly on Wednesday.
