Belmont Tips 20/03/2024
BEST BET 🏆
Race 1 No. 3 QUEEN NARDI ($3.45)
We can be confident that QUEEN NARDI will see out the mile with Zephen Johnston-Porter giving her the run of the race behind Zenique. We would expect that horse to lead and there does not appear to be a whole lot of pressure from elsewhere. Queen Nardi knocked off her maiden two starts ago when box-seating off a sit and sprint over this trip in Geraldton. She improved to run time as Adam Durrant took a throw at the stumps in Listed grade over 1800m at Ascot last time. She wasn’t disgraced on that occasion while finding the class too hot for her. Tactics will be the key here for ZJP as the fav Another Strike does possess the superior turn of foot. The Zephenator will need to be getting on his bike early in an attempt to take the sting out of the others.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 5 No. 4 CAPRE OMNIA ($5)
Port Kennedy trainer Dylan Bairstow will unleash his new stable acquisition in former Victorian galloper CAPRE OMNIA on Wednesday. The horse ran time over the 1100 metres at Kyneton while lumping a hefty weight right at the end of his prep last time in. Jarrod Fry gave Capre Omnia a peach of a ride as the even-money favourite romped away to a three-length win. Capre Omnia lived up to market expectations in running the fastest relative time of the day. Showed to have come back in great order during two trials at Lark Hill for his new stable. Ran the fastest time of the day in the second of such with Steven Parnham asking little from him. Parnham will be looking to stalk the speed and we can expect a forward showing from Capre Omnia as Bairstow applies blinkers to the horse for the first time.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 6 No. 6 JUST ADORABELLE ($12)
Happy to go with JUST ADORABELLE as our roughie while resuming. She does look like the progressive horse who is up in grade following a successful prep last time in. Just Adorabelle was noticed making ground from near last first-up last time in as Troy Turner brought her to the outside of the track. She rattled home to split Trespassing and Alaskan while running second in smart time over this trip at Ascot. Bolted in second-up in a weaker maiden at Pinjarra before being tipped out after pulling up slightly lame at her next start. Just Adorabelle was given a reasonably quiet trial under Turner in preparation for return and may surprise these.
