Belmont Tips 23/11/2022
BEST BET 🏆
Race 1 No. 11 FOREVER CLASSIC – ($3.50)
The Neville Parnham trained FOREVER CLASSIC has put in three respectable runs at her first race prep. She resented being restrained by Ladqar Ramoly on debut before letting down strongly when the race was over. Senior rider Brad Parnham kept her under wraps when following the stablemate, The Desert Fox over 1300 metres at Northam. The latter got away from Forever Classic from the top of the straight and did enough to stave off her late challenge. Neville Parnham applied the blinkers last time out with Brad allowing an already hot filly to spear across to lead from her outside gate. She had sweated up and raced fiercely yet gave a kick to deny all bar the freakish turn of foot from Madame Magic. Forever Classic herself ran strongly throughout and can do so again off the inside draw.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 4 No. 4 SAMARIA – ($3.30)
The blinkers went on SAMARIA when she pinged to the front from the gates two starts back. Came back nicely under Holly Watson to lead at a good tempo while doing it well within herself. Watson asked her to increase rounding for home and Samaria obliged by putting a gap onto her rivals. She was well clear approaching the 200 metres and Watson kept her going strongly to the line. That was just her second race start with Mitchell Pateman then finding a race for her at Belmont where she was attacked a long way from home. Samaria fought off the challenges to come away late before being claimed in the shadows by My Dilemma. Stays to track and distance and continues to improve with race experience.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 2 No. 3 INVINCIBLE RUBY – ($5)
We backed INVINCIBLE RUBY first-up this prep after trialling well at Lark Hill and showing a will to win during her first prep. Invincible Ruby jumped well enough to be handy to the speed on resumption before getting shuffled back. The bird had flown by the time she was out and balanced to mount a challenge into the straight. Invincible Ruby finished the 1000 metres off in a manner suggesting that further distances will suit. She was then always out the back as Baby Paris fended off the challenge from All Show over the same trip. Invincible Ruby was not beaten far after tacking on late in that Placid Ark Prelude. Plenty of excuses when tried in Listed grade last time over 1200 metres and is better suited here.
