Race 6 No. 3 SKY DUKE – ($2.40)

The Parnham crew team up with the race-fit SKY DUKE who holds the obvious class advantage over this field. Neville sent Sky Duke around over this track and trip on debut with Brad finding an easy time of it on the horse out in front. Sky Duke kicked strongly into the straight to hold them all at bay with the six-furlongs posing no issue. Has since been kept to the shorter sprints including third-up last start when held-out by Lexington City. Sky Duke had been trapped wide on the speed over the 1000 metres before challenging into the straight. Lexington City responded by carrying Sky Duke off the track with the outside horse tiring inside the last fifty metres. Less speed pressure in this race has us confident that Sky Duke can finish the 1200m off strongly on Wednesday.

Race 1 No. 2 CRUISEY ROY – ($6)

The opener on the card at Belmont looms as a tricky race where we’ll back CRUISEY ROY under the guidance of Alan Kennedy. Fair reason for concern to see Troy Turner coming off the last start winner in favour of another in Wozzeck. Crusiey Roy has shown a tendency to lay-in under pressure with the ambidextrous Turner able to ride him out. There are three last-start winners to contest this five-horse field with William Pike expected to roll forward on the even-money elect Megami. That horse will probably roll forward again with Demolish and both horses have over raced badly in the past. Cruisey Rot knocked-off the hotpot Madame Magic last time out and we have since placed that filly in with our #WABlackbookers. Should Pike and Ramoly get it wrong on the leading duo, then we’re happy to be on Alan Kennedy to get it right with Crusiey Roy.

Race 5 No. 5 No. 5 SINGLETON PARK – ($8)

Bindoon trainer Bruce Kay has sent new recruit SINGLETON PARK around for two solid trial hitouts to ready him for a first-up tilt at Belmont. The former Victorian trained galloper finished towards the rear of the field in his first trial which was over the sharper 1000 metres. Since jumped away evenly with them from an outside draw under apprentice rider Rosie Mahony. She sent him forward to lead the six-furlong trial and kept him honest into the straight. Singleton Park did tire and was inevitably overhauled late by the ultra-smart Cascadian who cruised on by. Shaun McGruddy may try to make use of the horse’s freshness off an inside draw to find a forward position.
