BEST BET 🏆 (WIN)

Race 2 No. 2 STEEL MASTER – ($2.10)

STEEL MASTER gets another chance in Race 2. The seven-year-old has had just the four career starts with three of those coming this year. He last stepped out at Sandown on March 15 and settled handy before running 3rd behind Chico Sonado. The son of Masterprint drops back to a country setting and his recent figures stack up well against this lot. With any luck from the barrier he can get the job done.

Race 1 No.10 SUZIDO- ($3.80)

Some unknowns with a number of first starters in action but I am willing to roll the dice on SUZIDO. The Charlotte Littlefield-trained galloper made her debut at Kyneton on March 16 over the 1112m and looked to be right in contention before being squeezed out of it inside the last 100m. She finished runner-up behind Frose and went 3.7 lengths slower than standard benchmark. Any improvement off that and the daughter of Supido will be hard to beat.

Race 4 No. 12 SWEAR SHES PERFECT- ($3.50)

This looks to be a suitable assignment for SWEAR SHES PERFECT. The four-year-old has had two runs this time in off a long spell and was 4th at Kyneton over the 1200m on resumption before heading to Sandown and running 5th behind Chico Sonado. She was wide without cover in the 1300m affair before landing just over a length away. At her previous preparation, the Simon Zahra galloper was a five-length improver on benchmark figures at this stage when an unlucky 5th in the $150,000 VOBIS Gold Ingot (1400m) at Caulfield. She draws well in barrier 2 and can break through here.
