Bendigo Tips 2/9/2022

BEST BET 🏆

Race 5 No. 2 MISS BALVENIE- ($2.40)

MISS BALVENIE should be hard to beat in Race 5 on Seymour Cup day at Bendigo. The four-year-old has won three of six and was impressive when resuming with a win ahead of Tori’s Dee at Sandown back in August before tackling a BenchMark 78 at that track on September 7, running 4th behind the handy Asfoora. Form out of that race looks good and she drops in grade for this assignment. Brett Prebble rides from barrier 4 and the Tom Dabernig mare is the one the beat.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 4 No. 2 ANGELIC SCENT- ($3.20)

Race 4 at Bendigo is a BenchMark 70 over the 2400m and ANGELIC SCENT can chalk up another win. The five-year-old has been knocking on the door with three successive runner-up performances and the most recent of those came at Flemington on September 18 over the 2550m behind Port Philip. In that race, the Matt Laurie-trained mare settled midfield and made a long and sustained run before missing out by less than a length. That was her first go above 2000m and she went 9.7 lengths faster than standard benchmark, which are the best last start figures of any runner. The daughter of Teofilo comes in full of fitness and the possibility of a Soft track should suit.
