Bendigo Tips 14/03/2024
BEST BET 🏆
Race 2 No. 9 OUR EMMBAR- ($6)
This is a weak race and OUR EMMBAR can capitalise. The Leon & Troy Corstens-trained galloper has had just the one minor placing in her three starts to date and resumed on February 27 at the track and trip, leading before just fading late into 6th position. She will strip fitter for this run and had excuses at her other two starts when trapped wide. Carleen Hefel rides and might be able to box seat with cover this time around from barrier 4.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 6 No. 2 MAX MERCURY- ($9.10)
This looks to be a suitable assignment for MAX MERCURY. The seven-year-old hasn’t measured up in harder company at his last few starts and should find this easier after finishing last of the seven runners in a BenchMark 70 at Sandown over the 2400m on February 28. He was 5th in a BenchMark 64 at the track and trip prior to that. The son of Toronado went 1.7 lengths faster than standard benchmark last time, which is the best last start figure of any runner. His personal best came at the track and trip last year when going nearly six lengths faster than standard, which is the best figure that any horse in this race has set in the past two years. Blinkers go on and the 3kg claim for Thomas Prebble gets him down to a winnable weight.
