Bendigo Tips 25/08/2022

BEST BET 🏆

Race 6 No. 3 DEMON BLOOD – ($3.90)

Keen on DEMON BLOOD in Race 6 of the afternoon at Bendigo. The Clinton McDonald-trained galloper has had the three career runs and resumed at Sandown on August 7 over the 1200m, finishing 3rd behind Niccolite. In that race, the four-year-old settled handy in the run but was held up at a crucial time in the straight before landing just over a length away. He went 0.5 lengths faster than standard benchmark and at his last campaign he improved four lengths on figures when second up to score at Geelong. Draws well in barrier 3 and will be ridden by Ben Melham.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 1 No. 3 BEOUR BAY – ($4.40)

The opener is a Maiden over the 1300m and BEOUR BAY can go close after a first up effort that saw her finish 3rd behind What You Need at Geelong on August 3 over the 1118m. In that race, the four-year-old settled handy and was no match for the winner, who was able to dictate in the lead on a soft tempo before kicking clear. Belour Bay produced the best late splits outside of the winner and went 5.3 lengths slower than standard benchmark, which are among the best that any horse in this race has produced. She comes into this with the fitness under her belt at her second run and has attracted early support in the betting.

BEST VALUE 💰(EACH-WAY)

Race 7 No. 7 SAN MARINO – ($8)

This looks to be a suitable assignment for SAN MARINO. The five-year-old comes back from some city racing and was posted wide two starts ago at Morpettville when 4th behind Quietly Discreet over the 1000m before heading to Sandown on August 10, running on well for 4th behind Miss Balvenie. San Marino went a very healthy 8.8 lengths faster than standard that day and worth pointing out that the 3rd placegetter has since come out and won a BM82 Saturday race at Murray Bridge. San Marino draws well for this assignment and and won’t be too far away in the run, while he should be able to handle the Heavy going.
