Bendigo Tips 26/10/2022

BEST BET 🏆

Race 7 No. 3 HIGH EMOCEAN- ($3.30)

HIGH EMOCEAN looks to be the one in the Bendigo Cup. The mare from the Maher/Eustace stable was a winner on Soft ground ahead of Mohican Heights at Flemington over the 2500m two starts ago before tackling the Bart Cummings (2510) and finishing 6th behind Lunar Flare. That form looks good for this and she loves a track with some give in it.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 6 No. 7 MERLIN’S CHARM ($6)

MERLIN’S CHARM can go close in Race 6. The Wendy Kelly-trained galloper won three on the trot at her last preparation and resumed at Sale on October 5, finishing 3rd behind Invincible Caviar over the 1208m. She settled off the speed in that race and closed off solidly. At her last campaign she was a 10-length improver on benchmark figures when going from a 4th when fresh to a win when second up. Later on she claimed a BenchMark 70 at Moonee Valley. The daughter of Toronado should enjoy a nice time of it from barrier 3 and will be ridden by Ben Allen.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 5 No. 3 EL SALTO- ($7)

EL SALTO can make amends for some luckless performances of late. The Brent Stanley-trained galloper was a winner at Echuca four starts ago before being a bit of a good thing beaten at Mornington. The five-year-old was then posted wide at Bendigo over the 1100m when a narrow runner-up behind Airclash, putting a gap on the rest. At his most recent start he saw no daylight at Morphettville from the turn until the 100m when 6th in a Benchmark 68. The son of Written Tycoon comes in with the best last start benchmark figures of any runner and loves a Heavy track.
