BEST BET 🏆

Race 3 No. 1 HAMSLETTE – ($2.90)

Locally trained mare HAMSLETTE has been set with a huge task to lump 61kg for the first time in her career. Top senior Jarrod Lorensini retains the ride as a result as James & Lisa Dodgson have Hamslette racing in great form. Lorensini box-seated the fence behind the speed over this track and trip. He switched back inside the leader into the straight with Hamslette bullocking her way into the clear to score. Has since led comfortably to come away from them for an impressive win at Mount Gambier over this trip. Not beaten far from the winner in town with her latest effort and should roll forward again from the draw.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 7 No. 13 DASH IT – ($5.50)

The fast pace up front allowed the Chris Bieg trained DASH IT to produce her best when resuming at Morphettville. Dom Tourneur allowed Dash It to find her feet early while getting a long way off them before letting rip as the widest runner. She did produce some of the best late sectionals of the day as Tourneur had wound her up from the 600m. This was enough for us to place Dash It into the #SABlackbookers file and wait for a suitable race. We were on last start at Murray Bridge in what looked like a thin race on paper. Dash It found herself a long way back again in a race where those in the back half failed to make any impression. Stable apprentice Felicity Atkinson takes the reins and can see us home in the last.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 5 No. 3 HARRY HOT PANTS – ($7)

The eye-catching last start run of HARRY HOT PANTS brings him under notice here at Bordertown. He was racing second-up over this trip in a much stronger race on his home track in Mount Gambier. Teagan Voorham left him alone through the early stages with Harry Hot Pants finding his feet well back off the slow tempo. The pair made steady progress throughout the race as Carak peeled off the leader’s back. Carak had proved far too strong for his rivals after gaining the gun run in transit. Harry Hot Pants had the follow me next start written all over him as he ran on out wider and into the placings.
