The Maher & Eustace-trained SEMANA has her third race start today and going off her achievements to date, she is a prime contender for victory here. Last start, the Winning Rupert filly came off her debut Maiden win (at Muswellbrook) when she lined-up in a Class 1 Hcp over 1200m at Gosford and took home third prize that day. She gave the impression she was looking for longer, which she gets here today. Brock Ryan has the reins for this contest where she draws wide, but with the long run to the first turn (from the 1300m start), she will have ample time to cross and find a suitable sit. She is off to a great career-start and looks set to continue the progression here.

Race 6:  No.10  GLOWING GOLD  ($5 with BlueBet)

The Maher & Eustace stable have GLOWING GOLD engaged here who, at the weights, looks a super chance for victory today. Last start, the Sepoy filly was fourth-up when she found her mojo and easily accounted for a 1400m Maiden on the Bathurst track. Mitchell Bell rode her an absolute treat that day, taking a sit behind the speed, then finishing best to win by 1.5 lengths on the line. She ran her last 600m, 3.5 lengths quicker than benchmark, the best in this line-up by more than 3 lengths. She also clocked the fastest final 800m, 600m and 400m sectionals for the race. This is a sharp rise in class but clearly has the stable confidence behind her to cope with the situation. Stepping to the mile today, she drops 2kgs and has Brock Ryan on board for this assignment. Ideally drawn in gate four, the riding tactics should be similar here and with a clear run to the line, she should prove hard to hold out today.

Last start, the Hellbent filly was fresh off a 17-week spell when she finished well to grab third prize in a Class 1, here over 1000m. She covered her last 600m, 1 length quicker than benchmark, the best last-start effort here by more than 3 lengths. Already a winner when second-up, she draws nicely in gate three today and should be one of the main contenders for victory here.
