BEST BET 🏆
Race 8: No.6 HUON ($2.30 with Neds)
The James Cummings-trained HUON is yet to miss a beat with all six starts to date ending in podium finishes and third-up tonight, he looks a stand-out for your multis. Last start, the Kermadec gelding came off a first-up win at Hawkesbury when he made his Canterbury debut in a BM72 contest. He beat all but one home that night after tragically being held up near the 200m mark which cost him dearly. He still ran a new personal best, covering the trip, 1.3 lengths quicker than benchmark. Zac Lloyd is back aboard tonight and boasts a two from two record with the four-year-old and avoiding another ‘hold-up’ like last start, he looks the best of the night.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 4: No.3 CALIFORNIA SURREAL ($3.50 with Unibet)
The Team Snowden-trained CALIFRONIA SURREAL is in great touch this time in and looks well placed here for back-to-back wins tonight. Last start, the I Am Invincible mare went one better than her second-up effort when she beat home a BM72 field, here over 1200m with Tommy Berry aboard. On a Good 4, she put almost a length on them over the line. She ran the last 600m out, 6.8 lengths quicker than benchmark, the best in this field, while also posting the fastest final 800m to 200m sectionals for the race. She meets similar company here and has a preferred dry track to race on as well. Berry sticks with her and already a two-time winner here, she looks the testing material tonight.
