Caulfield Tips 03/02/2024
BEST BET 🏆
Race 3 No. 3 JOHNNY ROCKER ($2.15)
Nice performance by JOHNNY ROCKER at his first run back fro a year of the scene. That came at Flemington over the 1000m on January 20 and the Nick Ryan-trained galloper charged home to finish a length off Mornington Glory in the exacta position. The winner out of that has since produced the goods at Moonee Valley and looks a serious horse. Johnny Rocker went 10 lengths faster than standard benchmark last time and gets out to the 1100m. Any luck from the barrier and he should be hard to beat.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 4 No. 2 ENEEZA ($2.90)
Keen on ENEEZA in the Group 3 Chairmans Stakes at Caulfield. The Peter Moody and Katherine Coleman-trained filly was solid on debut with a runner-up finish at Flemington before winning well at Caulfield over the 1000m at her next start, running excellent time int he process. The daughter of Exceed And Excel was three and four wide that day but was still able to win by a couple of lengths, going a healthy 7.8 lengths faster than standard, which are excellent figures for a two-year-old. She can go on with it.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 1 No. 1 LOST ($2.80)
LOST can go close in the opener at Caulfield. The Godolphin galloper showed promise at her debut preparation, claiming a Maiden at Canterbury before pulling up with issues at Warwick Farm at her next start and being sent to the paddock. She has trialled well in preparation for her return and draws to be prominent from barrier 2 with Mark Zahra to ride.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 2 No.2 CROSSOVERKID ($8.10)
Some promising three-year-olds line up in Race 2 and CROSSOVERKID might be the one to score at what will be his fourth career start. He was unlucky two starts ago when 3rd over the 1500m behind Flamin’ Romans before jumping up to the 2000m and catching the eye with a fast finishing runner-up performance behind Bold Soul. The Andrew Payne-trained galloper was a bit green in the run home but was strong through the line. He should be ready with the experience and fitness in the tank.
