Race 3 No. 1 MR MAESTRO– ($1.70)
Short price but we can build a bank early on with MR MAESTRO, who is clearly the one to beat in the Caulfield Classic for the three-year-olds. The promising stayer from New Zealand has been a revelation since stepping up to longer trips and took out the Derby Trial (1800m) at Flemington before scorching to a two-length win in the Super Impose Stakes (1800m), again at Flemington. The son of Savabeel went 10 lengths faster than standard in that race and meets Red Sun Sensation at the same weights, while he looks to have an edge on the others.

Race 7 No. 2 GENERATION- ($4.60)
Keen on GENERATION in Race 7 of the day at Caulfield. The Maher/Eustace galloper finds his right class here and was a narrow runner-up when resuming at the track and trip back in late August before heading to the Group 1 Moir Stakes (1000m) at Moonee Valley on September 23 and running 4th behind Coolangatta. He settled handy that night and just lacked the dash at the business end to finish a length away. Third up form is rock solid, while the likelihood of a track with some give in it is right up his alley. Mark Zahra rides and will look to find a spot from barrier 9.

Race 5 No. 8 EPONYMOUS- ($4.60)
The three-year-olds line up in the Gothic Stakes and EPONYMOUS can go one spot better than a last start effort that saw him finish runner-up at Moonee Valley behind Kaygeebee. The Chris Waller-trained youngster settled back that evening and defied the pattern to just miss out. He was unlucky not to grab the prize after being held up at the top of the straight. The son of I Am Invincible went 5.8 lengths faster than standard benchmark, which are better figures than any horse in this race has produced. Suspect this guy is headed for the Carbine Club Stakes (1600m) at Flemington on Derby Day and he can tune up for that race with a win.
