Taree trainer, Ross Stitt saddles-up CASIRINA here who resumes today off a 14-week spell and is way overdue for a win. Last start, the Casino Prince gelding ended a long campaign by finishing fourth in a BM74, here over 1405m. He has trialled recently, winning that by 2 lengths on a Heavy 10 Tuncurry track. Placed twice here previously, Ben Looker steers the ship today and already a five-time winner in the wet, conditions here are ideal for him. His resume shows he is a three-time winner when first-up which puts the six-year-old in the ball game. A trouble-free run today should see him there at the finish.

Race 7:  No.3  ZANARDEE’S LANE

Local galloper, ZANARDEE’S LANE is second-up today and boasting eight-straight podium finishes to date, looks a safe investment in this contest. Last start, the Raphael’s Cat gelding resumed off a 20-week absence when he took home third prize in a BM66 Hcp over 1106m at Grafton. He sat just behind the speed that day and in the run home, took the lead but his condition gave out and was beaten to the line by two others, holding down third place across the line. Brodie Loy is the pilot today with the five-year-old drawing barrier eight and maps to settle near mid-field with cover. Fitter for that first-up run, he looks a genuine contender here.

Race 4:  No.9  ROYAL DIVIDE

The locally-trained ROYAL DIVIDE is second-up today and looks a strong chance for back-to-back wins in this contest. Last start, the Pride Of Dubai filly resumed from a six-month absence as she changed stables and having her first start for Aiden St Vincent, finished strong to grab victory in a 1015m Maiden at Grafton. Brodie Loy had her box-seating on settling and in the run home, the split came as Loy steered her to the lead and held them all at bay to score an impressive win on fresh legs. She will only strip fitter today as Loy sticks with her and back on soil, she looks good value here.
